Three Services,
One Structured Approach
Each engagement is scoped around a clear deliverable — from a written patentability opinion through to a coordinated international filing programme. Select the service that matches your current stage.
← Back to HomeHow the Work is Structured
1. Structured Disclosure
Every engagement begins with a formal disclosure form. This organises the technical details before any drafting or search work begins, reducing the time spent on subsequent revisions.
2. Prior Art Review
A literature and patent database search is completed before claims are drafted. The search findings inform both the scope of the claims and the arguments used during examination.
3. Drafting and Prosecution
The specification — claims, description, drawings, abstract — is drafted and reviewed before filing. Subsequent examiner communications are handled within the fixed engagement scope.
Patentability Assessment
A written opinion on whether a particular product, process, or composition is likely to satisfy the novelty and inventive step requirements under the Thai Patent Act. The work begins with a structured invention disclosure form, a literature and prior art search, and a written analysis.
Suited to inventors, university spin-outs, and small firms considering whether to invest in a full filing. The assessment provides a clear picture of the prior art landscape and a reasoned view on patentability before any filing fees are committed.
What is included:
- Structured invention disclosure form
- Prior art search — patent databases and scientific literature
- Written analysis addressing novelty and inventive step
- Observations on potential claim positioning
- Delivered as a formal written opinion document
Process steps:
Client completes the structured disclosure form describing the invention
Search conducted across WIPO PatentScope, national offices, and literature databases
Written opinion drafted and reviewed by principal attorney
Opinion delivered — typically within 10–15 working days of disclosure receipt
Thai Patent Application Drafting and Filing
Preparation of a full patent specification — claims, description, drawings, and abstract — in a form suitable for the Thai patent office. The engagement covers liaison with the inventor, drafting iterations, formal filing, and routine office action responses through to grant or settled outcome.
Suited to a single invention belonging to an individual or a single corporate applicant. The fee covers the professional work described; DIP official fees are charged separately at cost with a disbursement schedule provided at engagement commencement.
What is included:
- Inventor liaison and disclosure review
- Full specification drafting: claims, description, drawings, abstract
- Drafting iterations and client review
- Formal filing with the Department of Intellectual Property
- Routine office action responses included
Process steps:
Disclosure form completed — prior art search conducted
First draft specification prepared and sent for inventor review
Revisions completed, final specification confirmed for filing
Formal filing with DIP — filing receipt provided to client
Prosecution managed through to settled outcome
International Filing Programme via PCT and National Phase Entries
A coordinated filing programme starting with a Patent Cooperation Treaty application and continuing through national phase entries in chosen jurisdictions, with Thailand as the home filing. The engagement includes correspondence with overseas associates, fee planning across the lifecycle of the application, and quarterly written updates describing the status of each office.
Suited to applicants whose invention has commercial potential in multiple markets and who wish to manage the international filing programme through a single point of contact rather than engaging separate counsel in each jurisdiction from the outset.
What is included:
- PCT international application preparation and filing
- International search report review and response strategy
- National phase entry coordination in selected jurisdictions
- Overseas associate correspondence and reporting
- Forward fee and deadline planning schedule
- Quarterly written status reports per jurisdiction
Process steps:
PCT application filed within 12 months of Thai priority date
International search report received and reviewed with client
National phase entry jurisdictions selected and entered before 30-month deadline
Prosecution in each jurisdiction managed via local associates
Quarterly consolidated status reports issued to client
